CDR Pumps for the Electroplating Industry

Applications:

The Electroplating It involves a series of treatments carried out using aqueous solutions containing metal salts, acids, bases, detergents, and specific additives. Galvanic industry plants consist of a sequence of tanks, each equipped with its own services and an automatic system for transporting and immersing/extracting the parts, following the predetermined sequence and treatment times.

Electroplating is a technique that allows a less precious metal to be coated with a thin layer of a more noble or passivatable metal, using the process of electrolytic deposition. A complete work cycle is divided into three main phases:

  1. Surface preparation for treatment,
  2. Metal coating deposition,
  3. Finishing treatments.

The fluids used in the electroplating industry are compatible with pumps lined with Moplen (polypropylene), making Moplen (polypropylene) mechanical seal pumps, such as the CCL, the PP magnetic drive pumps, such as the ETN EVO, the most suitable for this sector.

The ETN EVO pump is one of the Magnetic drive centrifugal pumps, in which the rotational motion of the motor shaft is transmitted to the impeller via a magnetic coupling. The outer magnetic core, connected to the motor, drives the inner magnetic core, connected to the impeller, without direct contact, by exploiting the principle of attraction and repulsion of permanent magnets. The containment housing ensures complete isolation from the external environment.

The CCL pump is a polypropylene-lined, mechanically sealed centrifugal pump, featuring a stainless steel shaft sleeve lined with polypropylene via transfer molding. This configuration allows for the replacement of only the sleeve in case of mechanical seal failure, keeping the impeller intact and thus reducing maintenance costs.
